Data Sources

ED-Astrometrics uses data from a variety of sources. Some of these are populated automtically by a variety of third party tools, and others require manual data entry.

The bulk of the data is recorded in real-time from submissions to EDDN. Every few days, an EDSM pull is also used, mainly to fill in gaps just in case some EDDN submissions did not come through, perhaps due to an outage on the EDAstro side. While we started out using mainly EDSM as the data source, and have since transitioned to EDDN, EDSM is still used as well for the additional reliability.
